Caps get eaten by Sharks
Ugh, there's nothing good to say about the Caps 7-2 loss to the league leading San Jose Sharks. The injury bug is hurting the Caps right now and Sergei Fedorov left the game early with the same ankle injury that's kept him out for a while. But, that's no excuse for the Caps deplorable showing last night. The Sharks got 3 goals on the first 5 shots, one of them from Shaone Morrisonn's stick. It's tough to come back after going down 3-0 before the first period is over. Last night, I felt like goalie Brent Johnson should have been pulled, but he had zero help from the defense and it's probably just as well that Coach Boudreau kept him in versus putting Jose Theodore in with that pathetic defense. On offense, the top line of Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and Viktor Kozlov didn't contribute either.
In summary, the highlights:
- Donald Brashear getting the best of Jody Shelley in an early fight in the first period.
The lowlights:
- The defense.
- The defense.
- Oh, and the offense, too.
Let's go Caps
