Ahhh...big media love for Ovie
and Adam thank you for being one of the ones that voted for Ovie as the rookie of the year and pointing out that 2 of the legendary moments since this post-lockout era have been made by the Russian phenom. I'll never forget reading about him before he started playing here and hoping that the hype about him might actually be true and I'll never forget the jaw dropping experience of watching "the goal". As a Cap's fan since 1974, nothing beats signing this gifted young hockey player to a 13-year contract.

It still blows me away that the Caps could land this type of talent. This just doesn't happen in Washington sports. Then I keep praying that we don't do anything to screw it up. At least Abe Polin isn't controlling to purse strings anymore. Now how do we sign these other guys??
Ah, now that is a good question. I know the Caps are still way under the salary cap so hopefully they'll find a way to sign the rest of the "young guns". It still blows me away, too, that the Caps got Ovie. I'll never forget reading about him before he got here and thinking there's no way DC could get that lucky, but it happened and only because Abe was out of the picture.
